I recently purchased the OutEquipPro 12V 10,000 BTU Top-Mounted Heating and Cooling Air Conditioner directly from the manufacturer, and after a few weeks of use in my 19-foot truck camper, I’m very impressed.
Installation was mostly straightforward, though I did have to modify the mounting brackets to get them to sit flush against the interior ceiling of the camper (not the roof). If you’re reasonably handy, it’s not a major issue—but it’s worth noting that this might not be a pure plug-and-play experience for every RV layout.
This unit has outperformed the factory-installed A/C that came with our camper. It cools quickly and evenly, and even during hot days, the inside of the camper stays comfortable. The heating function also works well in cooler weather, offering year-round flexibility.
One of the standout features is how quiet this unit is. It runs noticeably quieter than our old unit—even on higher settings. You can comfortably sleep, work, or relax without the constant drone many RV air conditioners have.
It runs directly off our 12V battery system, which makes it ideal for off-grid camping. This was my main reason for purchase. While it does pull a bit more power in turbo mode, about 41 amps on my unit, it’s well within reason for most solar or battery setups—especially when used in eco or sleep mode.
I’d definitely recommend the OutEquipPro to most RVers, especially those looking to go solar or off-grid. Just be prepared to make a few adjustments during installation depending on your ceiling or mounting surface. If you have some basic DIY skills, you’ll be fine.
