So the AC is installed in my 2014 Ford E350 Camper Van. I have a 12,000 watt house battery bank. We were camping in an Interstate Rest Area outside temperature was 85 degrees and the thermostat on the AC was set for 74 degrees. After running all night the battery bank was down to 88%. The AC is very reliable and very economical. I think it will last a long time.
Replaced the 2025 circuit board beneath the AC’s interior cover with the newly offered Bluetooth board and couldn’t be Happier!!… Install was basically plug & play and the BT display provides extreme clarity as well as additional operating data!
No more need to point remote control at the control panel!! Bluetooth has an impressive 20-25’ range :)
Things went great while troubleshooting a E5 error. Good response from the troubleshooting tean at Outequip. Problemsolved.
I am a mobile dog groomer, and I needed an ultra efficient air conditioning unit that I could use on the roof of my van so that when I plug into the customer's house I would not trip the circuit. After years of attempting to use a non DC air conditioner, which almost always tripped the circuit of my customers' house, I decided to try the Outequipro DC unit through a converter, and it has worked marvelously! This lightweight AC unit has a slow startup so it never trips the circuit. It has very nice cooling capabilities, lowering the temperature in my van on a sunny day from 100 to 90 in about 30 minutes, which is a more noticeable difference than the numbers appear: the dogs stop panting when I am giving them a haircut. Moreover, it's also very light with a very low profile, and it looks very sharp on the top of my van unlike the typical energy guzzling non DC unit I had in another van.Â
I bought this particular unit due to the fact that I got instantaneous and qualified advice from the moment I started communicating with Outequippro. All of my questions and concerns were immediately answered by a real life human being right here in the United States of America.
I would say the only downside was the installation, which was quite a bit trickier than we expected. This unit replaced a maxx fan rooftop fan; however, the console of the unit had a gap of about 1/4 inch after the complete installation--which I see is very common with other installers of this unit on the Internet. All I had to do was screw into the ceiling the plastic console and put a light bead of caulk to seal the edges. A more professional look would have been to have 1/4 inch thick frame underneath the lip of the console.Â
Other than that this unit has so far been very reliable, starts up very slow, cools very rapidly, and is almost whisper quiet: you don't even know it's running-even on turbo speed. FYI, after running the power through an AC to DC converter, the power draw is 7 AC amps on Turbo mode and almost 4 on Eco mode. Highly Recommended!
